Personalised mRNA vaccine shows positive results in late-stage skin cancer trial
A final‑stage clinical trial of a personalised messenger‑RNA (mRNA) cancer vaccine has reported encouraging results in patients with skin cancer, suggesting that the technology could be adapted to treat a wide range of malignancies. The study, which enrolled a cohort of individuals with advanced melanoma, evaluated the vaccine’s ability to stimulate a targeted immune response against tumour‑specific antigens.
In the trial, patients received a series of vaccine doses tailored to the genetic profile of their own tumours.
