Six-year-old dies after teacher slap in Andhra Pradesh, minister vows legal action
The regional Minister of Education for Andhra Pradesh, Dr. S. R. Reddy, announced today that he will pursue legal action against those responsible for recent misconduct in the state’s educational system. Speaking at a press conference in Hyderabad, the minister said a newly formed committee will investigate the allegations and identify the individuals or entities that facilitated the wrongdoing. He emphasized that the committee’s findings will guide the legal proceedings and that the state will not tolerate any breach of educational standards.
According to the minister, the investigation will focus on incidents of exam fraud, improper allocation of school resources, and alleged corruption in the procurement of educational materials. The committee, comprising senior officials from the Department of Education, the State Legal Services Authority, and independent experts, will review documents, interview witnesses, and conduct site inspections. Dr. Reddy stated that once the committee completes its report, the state will file civil and criminal suits against the identified parties, ensuring accountability and restoring public confidence in the education sector.
The announcement comes amid growing public concern over the integrity of the state’s academic institutions. By initiating a formal legal process, the ministry aims to deter future misconduct and reinforce the rule of law within Andhra Pradesh’s education system. The committee is expected to submit its findings within 60 days, after which the state will proceed with the appropriate legal actions.
